Community Program Developer

Description:

The Community Program Developer will develop  classes in the community based on Social Role Valorization principles. Community Program Developer helps deliver quality programs, plans community activities, provides direct supports to group members and works with staff to develop new community based programs for recreation members within various Franklin County Programs.

Duties: 
  • Develops quarterly activity schedules for FCB Recreation program.
  • Writes program plans for all one-time and ongoing activities, classes and clubs.
  • Plans and coordinates special events.
  • Submits all purchase orders for recreation program.
  • Partners with vendors and volunteers to facilitate recreation activities.
  • Builds relationships with community resources and negotiates rates for activity costs.   

·         Evaluates classes and program plans to ensure programs are implemented effectively

•·         Trains Recreation Specialists on teaching methods and skills assessment

•·         Performs paperwork, compliance reviews and other program documentation as needed

•·         Provides direct support to participants as needed

•·         Plans community activities based on the needs of the participants and leads activities as needed.

•·         Monitors the quality of programs and conducts quality reviews.

•·         Ensures program adherence to all policies and procedures and laws governing the developmental disabilities field

•·         Serves as a role model and assists participants in making informed life choices.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

•·        Associate's degree or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in social services or a health related field preferred,

•·         Two (2) years of experience in developmental disabilities field required.

•·         Valid driver's license with five or fewer points required.  Never 6 points in a 2 year period.

•·         Working knowledge of developmental disability laws, regulations and funding sources preferred.
